![]() When we got back to our room nothing was cleaned and the trash can was full. Housekeeping department: We left the hotel before 4pm and we ask very kindly if they can clean our room when we leave and they said yes. First, the owner of the hotel she has no clue about what hospitality is and how to talk in a nicely way to her guests as also she tried to double charged us for our stay with the excuse that the payment didn’t went through because we had booked through. I would like to make a list of what happened and mention all of the facts we had to deal with. Went to Fyrogenis Palace on Sunday 08/11/19 for 2 nights and our stay was the baddest experience we ever had. Do yourself a favour and steer well clear of Fyrogenis Palace. Incidentally we did find an alternative from a lovely lady in the main town who was only too happy to help us - Margarita's Apartments near the main centre. It looked like Shrek had been for a swim. Great attitude eh?! Oh and then there's the swimming pool (photos attached) which was so green and murky I'm not sure anything would survive in it if you even dipped a toe in. I asked the owner if he could offer us any assistance either in finding accommodation or with transport, he laughed and told me he didn't care. He offered us no assistance in finding us an alternative and no assistance in transport - the town of Ampelas I'm sure is lovely but the whole place was closed up, there was nothing there so we had no choice but to return to the main town by the port to find alternative accommodation, at a cost of €60 in taxis, €30 to Ampelas and back. We received a response with a very expensive quote which we declined but why, at this point did no one tell us the hotel was closed and we'd need to make alternative arrangements? Anyway Mr Rude turns up and essentially tells us the hotel is closed and that this was not his fault. This man is one of the rudest people I've ever met and how he is in any way connected to the hospitality industry is beyond me! He offered no explanation as to why no one had bothered to tell us that the hotel was closed, I appreciate there may be an issue with but one of our party had been in direct contact with a staff member from this hotel the day before we arrived to enquire about the cost of a transfer from the port as it's about a 20 minute drive. There was a piece of paper stuck to reception door with a mobile number on it which we rang and the owner's husband arrived shortly after. However we arrived to find that the hotel had shut for the season and there was no one around. Four of us booked to stay here for a night in October via.
